Volt & Vine

Electronics

A smart-home range where every product had forty specs and none of them helped anyone decide.

Challenge

Volt & Vine sold hubs, sensors, switches and plugs that all needed careful comparison — Zigbee versus Wi-Fi, load ratings, hub dependency, room coverage. Their product pages dumped all of it into one endless spec table. Shoppers scrolled, got overwhelmed, and bounced to a marketplace listing that at least told them whether the thing would work in their home. Compatibility anxiety was killing conversion on high-intent traffic.

Our role

We rebuilt the product experience around decisions, not datasheets. A "Will this work for me?" module surfaces compatibility, hub requirement and room fit at the top; the full spec table lives below for the researchers. Compare views, a starter-kit builder, and metaobject-driven spec content keep it all maintainable as the catalog grows.

Result

The new PDP led with clarity and demoted the noise, so buyers reached certainty faster and stopped leaving to double-check specs elsewhere. Conversion rate climbed 20%, add-to-cart on hub-dependent accessories rose sharply, and support tickets about compatibility fell.
