01 · The brief
What the store had to do.
BIQU sells 3D-printer parts from regional storefronts. Visitors needed routing to the right one, but the company could not hand theme or backend access to an outside studio. The work had to be delivered as something the client installs, not something we edit.
02 · What we built
The work.
A routing app instead of theme code
The router is a Shopify app the client installs on each store. Rules map a visitor’s country to a storefront; the visitor can override the choice and the override is remembered. Search engine crawlers are never redirected, so every regional store keeps its own index.
Self-hosted, no theme access
The app runs on infrastructure the client controls. Nobody outside the company touches the theme or the admin, which was the condition that made the project possible at all. We wrote about the general pattern in the journal: when you cannot share the backend, build the app.
03 · What's live
What you can check today.
As of September 2026 the app runs on BIQU’s storefronts; the main store lists around 230 products across 70-plus collections and runs English, Spanish and German versions.

Catalogue sizes and languages were observed on the live store in September 2026; they change as the client trades. No performance figures are quoted because we only publish what a visitor can verify.
