What the store had to do.
Custom-merch buyers arrive on phones, compare dozens of options — materials, sizes, quantities — and have to trust a small maker with a custom order. Ella is a capable theme, but its phone layout is the desktop layout reflowed: small, crowded and slow to scan.
The brief was fidelity to the design on desktop, and a phone experience designed as its own composition rather than a squeezed copy.
02 · What we built
The work.
Purpose-made sections instead of theme defaults
The homepage, product grids and review strips were rebuilt as sections written for this store, matched to the design files property by property rather than approximated with theme settings. That is slower than configuring a theme and it is the difference between “looks like the design” and “is the design”.
A phone layout on its own grid
Mobile was designed at 375 pixels as an independent stage: its own type scale, spacing and section order, so that what a phone shopper sees is what was drawn for a phone. Desktop stays untouched by mobile decisions, and the other way round.
Three languages
The storefront runs in English, Spanish and Dutch, with hreflang declared so each language version is indexed on its own.
03 · What's live
What you can check today.
As of September 2026 the store lists around 47 products across 46 collections (keychains, pins, standees, custom printing), runs English, Spanish and Dutch versions, and has product reviews and pay-later options in place.
