The UMI&UMI homepage in Japanese: gold jewellery resting on a shell at the water's edge.
UMI&UMI — youmiumi.com

01 · The brief

What the store had to do.

A Japanese jewellery brand with Korean- and Chinese-speaking customers: four languages across three scripts, with currency to match. Product names and descriptions differ per language rather than being one text translated, so the store has to treat each language as real content.

02 · What we built

The work.

Four languages on one Horizon storefront

Horizon, Shopify’s newest theme framework, customised and run through Markets with Japanese, Korean, English and Simplified Chinese as first-class versions, each declared in hreflang.

Currency included

Each market shows its own currency, so a Korean shopper sees won and a Japanese shopper sees yen without a manual switch.

03 · What's live

What you can check today.

As of September 2026 the store declares ja, ko, en and zh-Hans in its hreflang, lists around 112 pieces across 12 collections — earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets — and runs subscriptions, restock alerts and chat alongside the theme.
