Basscamp

Experience

A festival brand selling merch and tickets in the same drop needed a storefront that would not buckle when tens of thousands of fans hit refresh at once.

Challenge

Basscamp sells limited festival merch and tiered tickets that go live on a schedule, so demand never builds gradually — it lands all at once. The old theme choked under the spike: pages timed out, the cart dropped items, and checkout stalled at exactly the moment fans were ready to pay. Every crash was revenue and trust walking out the door in real time.

Our role

We re-engineered the storefront for burst traffic — trimming render-blocking weight, caching hard, and stress-testing the whole drop flow against simulated peak load before a single fan showed up. Then we rebuilt the ticket-and-merch purchase as one fast path so people grab their pass and gear in a single move.

Result

The next on-sale opened to record concurrent traffic and stayed flat — zero downtime through the peak, checkout latency holding steady while volume climbed, and the bundled pass-plus-gear path lifting units per order. Fans got in, paid, and moved on.
